4Tournament Rule

  • Tournament Selection : Round of 16 Knockout Tournament
  • Player Selection Process : Invitation of each countries’ representatives
    (7 from Korea, 3 from China, 2 from Japan 2 from Chinese Taipei and 1 Wild Card)
  • Prize Money
    • - Loser of Round of 16₩2,500,000
    • - Loser of Quarterfinal₩4,000,000
    • - Loser of Semi-final₩8,000,000
    • - Runner-up₩15,000,000
    • - Winner₩50,000,000
  • Playing Rules
    • - Korean Baduk Rules and playing rules will be applied(Komi – 6.5 points)
    • - Thinking Time : a half hour and byoyomi 40 seconds 3 times
    • - Drawing lots(Round of 16) will be done during the opeing ceremony and there will be no more drowing lots.
      ※ For drawing lots, the country that has the most players draw first and the same country's players should not be matched.
    • - Rules for lateness : losing two times of the lateness time and forfeited game in the case of 15 minutes lateness
    • - Etc.
      • 1) Quarterfinal and Semi-final will be played in one day(morning·afternoon)
      • 2) The matches will be played in the same and open location as the International Children Baduk Festival.
      • 3) The airfare, food and accommodation will be provided by the host.
      • 4) The other subjects that are not specified in the Etc. are to decided according to international tournament convention and mutual consent.

      ※ Same country's players to be teamed up
    • - The two partners sit beside each other, facing the opposing pair across the Go board. The male player sits facing the male player and the female player facing the female player.
    • - Order of moves : ●Black female player→○White female player→●Black male player→○White male player
    • - Rotation error: If the wrong partner plays, causing a departure from normal rotation, this is called a rotation error. Rotation errors are handled as follows
      • 1) A rotation error can be claimed only when the move just played was out of rotation.
      • 2) In the case of rotation error, the game continues with a three-point penalty for the claimed rotation error.
      • 3) Even if it's a rotation error, the played move cannot be undone, and the game continues as regular rotation based on the last move.
      • 4) After a rotation error is found, if the team doesn't play as regular rotation, they get another three-point penalty for the rotation error.
      • 5) If an illegal exchange of information between partners is observed to take place, the offending pair forfeits the game. Only discussion for resignation and checking the rotation is allowed.
      • 6) The other subjects that not specified in the Rotation Error, are to follow as international tournament convention and mutual consent.

    • - Preliminary Round : 27 players to be selected among professional players of the Korea Baduk Asssociation excluding seeds.
    • - Main Tournament : Round of 32 knockout Tournament
    • - Player Selection Process : 27 players who passed the preliminary round + 4 of seeds + 1 of sponsor’s seed
